Review the Intranet Design Style Guide relating to:
- Typography
- Font sizes
- Color
- Navigation bar
- Page width
- Images
Other checkpoints:
- Does your sub-site support the minimum
of 5.5 in Internet Explorer?
- Review your links
- All links should be working.
- Links to sections within a sub-site should be on every interior
page.
- Interior links should be in the same location throughout the sub-site
- Spacing should be consistent between
words, paragraphs and columns.
- Do not use "home" as a link to refer
to your main ("index" or "default") page. If you wish to link back to
your main ("index" or "default") page, use the name or description of
your sub-site, such as "Human Resources."
- Do not use a link labeled "contact us"
for your sub-site e-mail or contact information. Instead use, "to e-mail
us" or "to contact: Radiology"
- Have you secured permission for any copyrighted
photos, graphics, music, video, documents? Is the permission for Web
use? Unless you are the author/creator, assume that all materials you
plan to use are copyrighted until you check it out.
- Have you put copyright marks on your
original or company material, including the sub-site itself?
- Do you have a contact name at least on
the index (main) page, preferably on all sections?
- Limit use of italics and don't use italics
for copy that is -1.
- If you are using a two-column format,
are both columns the same width? Does the text flow properly from one
column to the next? The preference to use only one column or, if using
two columns, to place links in the second column.
