The primary default font used in the Cascading Style Sheets is Verdana. The secondary defaults are Arial, Geneva, and sans-serif. Verdana is used wherever the text is embedded in the "code" of the site. It is the font used for any and all areas that display content, as well as the font used for the navigation system.
